Betadine - vaginal suppositories belong to the group of gynecological anti-infective and antiseptic drugs
Indications:
Betadine vaginal suppositories are indicated for symptomatic relief of vaginal irritation, itching and tenderness (nonspecific vaginitis), vaginitis due to mixed infection, vaginitis caused by Candida albicans, and Trichomonas vaginalis.

Composition:
Povidone-iodine 200 mg (equivalent to 20 mg of available iodine)
Betadine vaginal suppositories as active agent contain povidone iodine, a complex compound of polyvinylpyrrolidone and iodine.
This complex is iodophore, in which polyvinylpyrrolidone acts as an iodine carrier.
In contact with the mucous membrane, iodine is slowly released from the complex and has potent antimicrobial and bactericidal (gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria), viral, fungicidal (Candida albicans), and protozoic (Trihomonas vaginalis) effects.
Dosage:
at night before going to bed, a well soaked in water is placed deep in the vagina;
the therapy lasts continuously for 14-21 days
