Part designed and manufactured to protect wheels and brake components of original trailing arms. Offered parts will protect from stone or particles damage to your trailing arms and inner wheel surfaces. Parts also prevents wheel from stone puncture.
Excellent prevention of damage caused by stones or other obstacles. Already tested on rough terrain. Story of part orgin: Stones (sized around 1/2 - 1 1/2 inch) are getting inside inner wheel barrel and rotating through thinner part between rear trailing arm where brake calliper located. When stones get stuck in that thinner part, rotating wheel forces stone to brake ether brake calliper, trailing arm, or wheel barrel. So these type of stones broke pair of callipers, and
pushed
through one wheel on clients Can Am. They asked for custom design guards. Robust 2mm Stainless Steel Guards solved broken components problem. Wheels and callipers don't suffer any more damage from now on. So now these parts are made available for other Can Am Owners. Please let me know if You need more detailed info on how they function, and what they prevent. Look at last picture with yellow trailing arm and see some of remaining damage on it.
Kit comes with all parts to fit it on your Maveric.
Fitting does require small amount of modification to original parts - drilling and
threading
one hole for each side.
It means, that the fitting of Parts will require drilling, of 1 extra hole on each trailing arm, and making thread for that hole.
Other bolts do not require any modifications.
Fitting instructions will be supplied with product.
